Episode 14: A Great Day
Saturday Jan 18, 2020
Saturday Jan 18, 2020
With ‘The Journey’ making huge waves at the top of the Malaysian box office, Fikri and Muz decided to take a step back and watch his previous film, ‘Great Day’. This episode, then, is a review of the film, discussing the authorship of Malaysia’s hottest director of the day, Chiu Keng Guan, and the potential impact he may have on Malaysian cinema. Also on the world’s only film podcast in Bahasa Malaysia, we pray for the safe return and well-being of those on the missing Malaysian Airlines flight and their friends and family. #PrayForMH370, people.

Saturday Jan 18, 2020
Saturday Jan 18, 2020
Another week, another episode of Thoughts on Films! This week, Fikri and Muz take a belated look at their top ten films of last year in Cerita Carta, before…taking a look at their ten most anticipated films coming up in 2014! Of course, by the time this episode is out, things could be very different, but hey…the timing’s very Malaysia for the world’s only film podcast in Bahasa Malaysia!

Episode 12: To Women With Love (part 2)
Saturday Jan 18, 2020
Saturday Jan 18, 2020
Back for another round of discussing the representation of women on screen with the world’s only film podcast in Bahasa Malaysia! We carry on the discussion by looking at the Bechdel Test, and seeing how much of is actually worthy of further and serious analysis. Then we wrap things up by bringing everything home, as per usual, and considers how such issues relate to Malaysian cinema. All this and more on the only film podcast in the world which can’t really remember it’s own Twitter handle (it’s @tof_show)!

Saturday Jan 18, 2020
Saturday Jan 18, 2020
Ladies and gents, it’s time for another episode of the only film podcast in Bahasa Malaysia! Well, that time was some time this past weekend, but we got a bit busy, and…well, who cares? We’re now here with all of you on this glorious day talking about the representation of women on screen. Not the newest of topics, we admit, but always worthy of further (re)consideration, so sit back, relax, and enjoy the only podcast in the world to talk a lot about KL without actually being recorded in it!

Episode 10: Waves of Life (part 2)
Saturday Jan 18, 2020
Saturday Jan 18, 2020
After last week’s mammoth near-90 minutes edition of the only film podcast in Bahasa Malaysia that probably drove you into submission (the podcast, that is. Not the language. Although that depends too, we suppose…), we're back with…more of the same! Not enough with collecting the metaphorical air miles on their metaphorical travels, they take a look at the New Wave films from America and Italy, before finally landing back home, all exhausted, in Malaysia. “Phew,” says the only film podcast in the world (maybe not) to not really use their gym membership!

Episode 9: Waves of Life (part 1)
Saturday Jan 18, 2020
Saturday Jan 18, 2020
A bit late this week, but that’s because of some film work some of us got going on! Production schedules aside, check out the ninth episode of the only film podcast in Bahasa Malaysia! This episode has plenty of the New Waves in their sights, with Fikri and Muz discussing the granddaddy of them all, the French New Wave. They move on to Japan, Iran, Germany and Romania. Check out all the fun on the only podcast (definitely) that does not use up government funds to travel to these countries, despite having two government servants!

Episode 8: Inner View with Ezzah Mahmud
Friday Jan 17, 2020
Friday Jan 17, 2020
Happy Lunar New Year to all (14 of) our listeners! Yes, not all may be of Oriental origins, but we all get the holiday as well, so let’s get cracking. A new year, a new month, a new week…and a new episode of the only film podcast in Bahasa Malaysia. In this episode, the boys and Ezzah briefly run the rule over ’47 Ronin’, before delving in her nascent career as a filmmaker. Lastly, we’ll look at Al Alif’s ‘Bumbung’ in Filpen Minggu Ini, wrapping up another episode of the only film podcast in the world (probably not) that confuses mamak workers with teh o ais limau kosong!

Episode 7: Gone With The Queen
Friday Jan 17, 2020
Friday Jan 17, 2020
We’re back with a new episode and…a new guest! We welcome Ezzah Mahmud, the first ever lady to be featured as a guest on the show. Fikri, Muz and Ezzah discuss about the multiple narrative film, ‘Kolumpo’, and the cities of love. They also explore the much ignored but not forgotten Malaysian film scene, its culture and impact to Malaysians. Of course, along the way they ramble about other films which have nothing to do with Malaysia (or even films at all, for that matter). All this and more on the only film podcast show in Bahasa Malaysia that is not entirely testosterone laden and still very much in touch with the feminine side (we think)!

Episode 6: From Paris With Muz
Friday Jan 17, 2020
Friday Jan 17, 2020
No, we didn’t quite manage to get all the way to Paris with the latest episode of the world’s only film podcast in Bahasa Malaysia. Rather, Mr Muz managed to take in the city of love and shared his experiences (not) doing what they did in the movies. Elsewhere, we were inspired (read: had nothing better to do) to watch both ‘2001: A Space Odyssey’ and ‘The Shining’, and were inspired (read: don’t know what to talk about) to talk about these two films in greater detail. All this and more in the only film podcast in the world that uses the term lampu limpah in the past tense!

Episode 5: The Force is Strong With This One
Friday Jan 17, 2020
Friday Jan 17, 2020
Force-ing (see what we did there?) our way through with the fifth episode of the only film podcast in Bahasa Malaysia, Fikri and Muz are back for another round of film talk! This week, they’re taking a closer look at Star Wars. They’ll reminisce about the memorable moments from the first six films, before predicting what will probably come up in the next Star Wars film to be directed by J.J. Abrams. All this in the only film podcast in the world (almost certainly) to include the word pelempang in relation to Han Solo!
